Meet the dream team

  • Hi, I'm Victoria! I have been in the beauty industry for over 35 years. Time flies when you love what you do! I started my career in Salem, Oregon. I graduated from Phagans School of Beauty in the Pacific Northwest in 1987 with a degree in cosmetology. Throughout my career, I have had various roles, including being a platform artist with Premiere Salons, owning multiple salons and spas, and working as a makeup artist and hair stylist in Los Angeles, CA, where I had the opportunity to work with top models and celebrities. I have also worked on movie sets and game shows, occasionally appearing in front of the camera. I have been privileged to work alongside some of the industry's top names over the years.

My passion has always been education. Fifteen years ago, I started a school because I believed there needed to be a more salon-like atmosphere in education, with flexible schedules and smaller class sizes for more individual attention, while also offering quality education at an affordable price. Over the past 16 years, I have enrolled and graduated over 400 students. I have also worked as a consultant for schools and professionals starting their own salons.

I would like to welcome you to tour one of our schools and experience firsthand how our engaging and welcoming atmosphere can change the way you learn. We prioritize laughter, fun, and hands-on learning from day one. Our amazing instructors have the experience and technical skills to help you become the best artist you can be. Some of our educators also own their own salons. I want you to know that we value and respect our students, and you are always welcome here.

  • Carley here, owner of Slay Beauty, Ltd., a cozy, welcoming hair salon located in Fort Collins, Colorado. As someone whose mother was a hairstylist, I grew up in hair salons and was enthralled by the idea of becoming a hairstylist at a very young age. I have always had a passion for doing hair, and I’m so happy to be able to do what I love every single day! I’m an innovative stylist fueled by my wonderful clients’ energy as they explode with confidence. I believe the foundation of my clients’ experience in my chair is about truly listening and discovering what makes them feel their most beautiful.

With a background in marketing and business (hey, some of us take a little longer to realize our true calling, and that’s ok! It’s never too late to follow your dreams!), I feel I have the ability to bring expertise about the business side of the cosmetology industry to our students at Victoria James School. I have worked in booth rental salons as well as commission salons, all with wonderful and comprehensive continued-education programs, which allowed me to hone my craft and become very confident in a wide spectrum of services. I have also participated in several ongoing and advanced training courses, which have allowed me to further grow my skillset while learning new and innovative methods and techniques. My focus has been and always will be on continuing education and staying up to date with the latest trends.

While I have a passion for every single facet of the industry, my true passion lies in the technical side of things. As a graduate of Victoria James Signature Salon Schools, I am so thrilled to be back helping to shape the future leaders in this ever-blossoming industry!

  • Hello! I'm Kayla. I started off my beauty school journey in 2011 in Little Rock Arkansas. I'm actually from Colorado, I just had an opportunity to move and live with my sister for a bit out there! Moved back and worked in a little shop, but building a clientele was very tiresome (mainly only got perms and roller sets.) My sister who is also in Cosmo started working at a barbershop and recommended I come join.

I fell absolutely in love with the detail and the precision of clipper cuts. I was offered to get my barbering added on by the company I was working for, and the rest is history! I adore a good razor fade and shave. (And have perhaps dressed as Sweeney Todd on a couple Halloween work days.) I've dabbled in working at a lice clinic as well, treating and combing out our industries arch nemesis! I found it absolutely fascinating... The clinics are not actually a part of the hair industry, but I was always taught it never hurts to learn anything.

I have a dog, 2 parrots, and I adore gardening!

I'm just kinda a silly human who loves art and cutting hair is how I decided to show my art to the world. ❤️

  • Hi! I’m Bri!

I’m a salon owner of Wild and Whimsy and hairstylist of 16 years!

My passion in the industry is for all things bridal- including styling, makeup and spray tanning!

I have loved digging into education to help develop students skills and confidence.

Education is best shared and I strongly believe in community over competition always!

I’m so excited to see these students learn and grow and be a small part of their journey.
